The Wave Hitogmai 3 is a neutral running shoe designed to give a more fast-paced and speedy run. It’s lightweight, has a low heel-to-toe differential, and a fantastic MSRP of only $100. Overall, a solid candidate for anyone looking for a new neutral runner or looking to add an additional one into their already existing arsenal.

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 3 Performance

The upper consists of Mizuno’s AIRmesh technology, which gives great breathability and dryness to one’s feet during runs. The upper doesn’t splay out like minimalist shoes such a New Balance Minimus or Vibram FiveFingers, so it’s possible that for some there maybe a tiny bit of cramping, but that will depend on the your individual foot shape and size. The heel is also locked in nicely and securely for a controlled run.

The sole unit is also a plus point for this shoe, as it performs amazingly. The low stack height really helps to reduce the weight (only 6.3 Oz for the women’s) and bring one closer to the ground (something I’m personally a huge fan of). Those looking for an ultra plush neutral ride may be disappointed with this shoe as it has ample cushioning, but not to the level of a Gel-Nimbus 18 or Adidas UltraBoost. Durability was also superb in this shoe (likely due to the outsole grip rubber used on the outsole) as it lasted amazingly through the high mileage runs.

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 3 Design

The look and feel of these shoes is actually great as Mizuno used premium materials and a wide range of  bright and attractive colour schemes for the designs. They have and air of sleekness or speediness to them which really adds towards the look and feel of the shoe when on feet. As always, Design is an important category to me and I’m positive runners will find a colour scheme that suits their preferences well with the Wave Hitogami 3.

Mizuno Wave Hitogami 3 Price

At an MSRP of $100, the Wave Hitogami 3 is priced just perfect, not too high and not too low. there are more minimalistic or more heavily cushioned runners out there, but you would be etching into pricier categories with them. For a relatively minimalistic trainer that you can easily add into your weekly rotation and one that will stand the test of time, you definitely get a great deal here.
