The Nike LunarGlide 8 is a bolstered trainer that provides a comfortable and stable exercise for runners. The LunarGlide series of Nike is considered as the ‘run easy’ one because of the superior comfort and ease for the runner. This shoe provides class-leading and amazing comfort and a smooth ride for the runner because it has foam that is overly soft and very responsive. The look is neat and simple yet sturdy. It is very different from last year’s model because of the disappearance of the two-piece midsole and Nike’s Flyknit upper.
Nike LunarGlide 8 Performance
The upper consists of a mesh instead of Flyknit so that there is more room for your feet and the toes don’t get flexed. There are no pressure points while you wear these shoes because of this extra room and if you still feel some pressure, then you must go for a size bigger than you’re wearing. The LunarGlide 8 has a smooth heel counter on the external side that is combined with plush and springy foam. This foam gives the heel of this shoe a soft and nice look. The last feature is of the Flywire; there is a thick string attached to the sole through which the shoe lace loops. The Flywire gives a slim and fit feel to the shoe.
The LunarGlide 8 follows a minimalist style and there are contours on the foam outsole. The midsole and outsole of the previous version were redesigned, and they are perfect in this model with the LunarLon cushioning. There are lateral slits on the wall of the midsole that increase the softness. The top insole is made of blown foam that adds extra comfort to the shoes. There are foam pads with concentric grooves under the forefoot that make the run more stable and smoother.
Nike LunarGlide 8 Design
The LunarGlide 7 was made up of Flyknit midfoot panel which was attached to the mesh upper. The LunarGlide 8 has this replaced and now there’s a single piece of upper on the exterior that is entirely made up of mesh material. There are Flywire cords and they work separately from the upper and join the round laces. The mesh portion over the toe is now a close-knit design, and the external plastic counter is replaced with an internal counter. The external midsole is made up of EVA, and there is a fewer number of groove rings present as compared to last year’s model. The LunarGlide 8 is not to be used on dirty and wet surfaces.
Nike LunarGlide 8 Price
The LunarGlide 8 is very expensive as compared to other running shoes with the same features. It costs $165 and thus, it’s on the higher end of the price spectrum. That said, it delivers good performance and design so it could definitely be worth the value for you if you enjoy it’s plush LunarLon cushioning.
